Once you have secured your visa, the real battle begins on how you will settle down in a foreign country. There are 4 major areas of concern here. They are:
- Air Ticketing
- Foreign Exchange
- Health Insurances
The first step that you must undertake is to sort out your air tickets for whichever country you are planning to go to. As your consultants, we take utmost care in ensuring that we can provide you with the best service in terms of buying the air tickets at the right time from the right place.
Regardless of when your planned time of travel is, it makes most sense for you to book your tickets in advance. The sooner you book it; the better is the discount that you can get. When you speak to your counsellors here, just let us know that you want assistance with the ticketing and we will get back to you with the best deals.
When you go to a different country, you will obviously require a certain amount of cash converted to their currency from yours. Please find out from your counsellors at Rao Consultants regarding how much cash you are allowed to carry to a country when you move there.
Please note that the rules and regulations are different for every country so you must have a clear understanding of what falls under the legal norms in which country. Also, make sure that you follow through with the ‘minimum cash required’ regulations.
The next big concern for you is accommodation. Please note that you can go about planning your stay in 4 different ways. They are:
- College dormitory
- Shared apartment
- Independent Apartment
The cheapest one, in most cases, is the college dormitory. This is because not only do you get your accommodation at government regulated prices, but you also don’t have to pay anything for transportation.
However, sometimes, Indian students find it better to share an apartment so that they can live comfortably in a budget. You can speak to our counsellors to guide you regarding how you can best find a good place to live.
Health Insurance might seem like an investment that isn’t very important in the beginning, however, please note that it is of utmost importance. Health care without insurance can be very expensive in a foreign country.
This is why it is always advisable to find a good health plan from India and then go ahead and invest in it alone. Health covers can range from only covering medical expenses, to the expenses related to travel of family members in case of emergency.
Your counsellor can assist you with finding the right programs so that you can go through them and take a decision regarding which one’s the best for you.
Why do you need a counsellor to assist you?
At Rao Consultants, we’ve been working with helping clients to settle study and travel abroad since the last 16 years. This experience has allowed us to understand all the various dimensions of starting a life overseas. Our counsellors are invested in the wellbeing and comfort of our clients.
We first understand the budget and the requirements of the customer and then outline a definite set of options for you. Based on the country where you are travelling, your expectations from the country and the kind of budget that you have, we draw out a list of options from which you can choose.
At any point, if you aren’t comfortable with the choices in front of you, you can always choose to ask us to look out for more options.
