What Are Your Chances Of Getting Canada PR?

Going to Canada is a dream that many of us harbor. Owing to its many policies and standard of living, Canada is truly the choice of everyone who seeks a better life these days. But in spite of the fact that the country has made immigration extremely simple for the people, there are certain points that make it very difficult for a common student or citizen to make their way there.

So, if you have been worried about what your chances towards a successful PR application are, here’s how you can determine your chances of getting a Canada PR.

CRS

CRS is short for Comprehensive Ranking System. This is essentially a tool that helps you understand exactly where you stand with respect to the number of points needed to enter Canada. There are a few different factors that are taken into consideration when it comes to building your CRS profile. While there are some things that add positively to the profile, there are others that affect it very negatively as well.

Let us take a look at each of these factors and understand how we can improve the scores.

IELTS

Ideally you should attempt to score as high as you can. A score around an 8 or a 7 will get you the best odds. But don’t worry if you have been faltering slightly. There is nothing that good planning and practice can’t overcome.

Take a couple of mock tests so that you know where you stand. We have some of the best IELTS faculty in the city who can help you achieve great scores easily. They also prepare you by giving you mock tests on regular intervals.

Educational Qualification

Having a good degree is always a plus. If you have a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree then your chances of getting higher points. However, the World Education Services will first check whether your qualification is equivalent to their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

In case the WES (World Education System) doesn’t find you to have the degree from a tier 3 university or college, it might not consider your qualification at all. A degree adds crucial points to your application score so make sure that you have the right documents to show for yourself.

Age: Every year beyond the age of 30, applicants will lose 5 points. So if you are planning to apply at a later date, then be sure to keep this mind.

Work Experience

This is a slightly tricky field to work with. Now, please note that when you apply for the PR, Canada does not consider your cumulative experience. Your experience as to be in one field for the mentioned duration of time.

For example, if you have been in HR for 2 years but then shifted to marketing and did that for about 3 years, you cannot say that your experience is of 5 years. You will have to choose 1 field and only mention the total experience in that one.

Basically, your job classification must remain the same as denoted by your NOC. So, choose the one that you think suits your qualities best and you have done for a longer duration and then attach that NOC across the board for your application.

Spouse

Your spouse does not have to take the IELTS mandatorily or even mention the educational credentials. However, if you do that, it might reflect positively for you. In fact, you might even try an alternative approach.

If your spouse is younger than you and has a higher degree from a reputable university or college, you might consider making them the primary applicant and present yourself as the dependent or spouse. This will get you higher points and make your journey simpler.
