NS PNP offers various immigration streams designed to cater to potential immigrants' specific needs, skills, and aspirations. Here is a brief overview of some of the most popular OINP streams:
Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream
This stream is tailored for individuals with essential skills and a job offer in Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia seeks candidates with a Canadian high school qualification, at least one year of skilled work experience, the financial capacity to settle successfully in the province, and a registered profile in the Express Entry system.
Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream
Geared towards individuals with previous work experience in Nova Scotia, this stream aims to retain talent in the province. Candidates must possess a Canadian high school qualification, a year of work experience in Nova Scotia, and be within the age range of 21 to 55. Proficiency in English or French at specific language benchmarks is required based on the job category.
Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities
This stream targets candidates who meet Nova Scotia's labour market demands and are invited to apply after receiving a Letter of Interest. The eligibility criteria are established at the time of the Letter of Interest, with legal status in their current residence, financial capability for settlement, and adequate work experience in alignment with the Express Entry stream.
Physician Stream
Designed to address the healthcare needs of Nova Scotia, this stream assists in hiring specialist physicians, family physicians, and general practitioners. It requires signed and approved opportunities with the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) or IWK Health Centre. These opportunities must confirm licensure eligibility and the applicant's ability to seek credentials and privileges with NSHA or IWK.
Entrepreneur
This stream welcomes senior business managers or experienced business owners willing to reside in Nova Scotia while actively managing a Nova Scotia business. The eligibility includes age requirements, net worth, an investment of a minimum amount, language proficiency, and relevant business experience. Application to this stream is by invitation only.
International Graduate Entrepreneur
Aimed at recent graduates from Nova Scotia institutions, this stream requires purchasing or owning a Nova Scotia business for at least a year. The eligibility criteria include language proficiency, academic qualifications, a valid post-graduation work permit, and a year of experience in business ownership.
Skilled Worker
This stream allows employers to recruit recently graduated international students and foreign workers with the skills in demand in Nova Scotia. Eligible applicants should be within a specific age range, have a job offer, meet language proficiency requirements, and have the financial resources for settlement.
