Big News! Pearson Test of English (PTE) is Now Accepted for Canadian Immigration

As of January 30th, 2024, the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Core has been given the green light for Canadian immigration. This means more options and flexibility for those of you seeking to plant roots in the beautiful landscapes of Canada as permanent residents or citizens. But remember, those applying through the Student Direct Stream (SDS) must chart a different course.
What is the PTE Core?
The PTE Core is a digital examination evaluating your English language skills to immigrate to Canada. This 2-hour test measures your speaking, writing, reading, and listening abilities in everyday scenarios. With a network of over 400 test centres globally, you should be able to find a suitable place to take the exam easily. With over 400 testing centres worldwide, finding a convenient location to take the test shouldn’t be a problem.
Key Features of the PTE Core.
- Scoring: The PTE Core is scored by humans and AI to minimise bias. This dual scoring system ensures a fair evaluation of a test taker’s English proficiency.
- Fast Results: One of the critical advantages of the PTE Core is the speed at which results are delivered. Typically, results are available within two days. This quick turnaround can be beneficial for those who need their results promptly.
- Test Parts: The PTE Core is divided into three parts:
Speaking & Writing (50 minutes): This section assesses the test taker’s ability to express ideas effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Reading (30 minutes): This section tests the ability to understand written English.
Listening (30 minutes): This section evaluates the ability to understand spoken English.
